Yes, lame title, I know.
I drew this while at a cabin by the ocean over Thanksgiving break. The reference picture is from a horse calendar that my friend had pinned all the pictures on the wall several years ago...
It probably took 3? 4? hours (I wasn't counting...). And I used my new sketchbook (which I like a lot) and H, 3B, 6B and Ebony Black pencils.
And this is the first picture in a long time that I actually covered the whole page! I am so proud...haha. Well, I do kind of like it. It was fun to draw. Although the wood gate could use some work...
Oh, and it scanned a little crooked...the gate is actually level across the paper in real life...oh well...
What a beautiful drawing! I'm never fond of doing backgrounds (even completely black ones), so the fact that you drew the door is impressive to me. Great work!

I think this is great and I love the stall door or fence,(whatever) it is great, so is the contrast with the black, I guess thats what made me think stall. Are those nail heads in the wood? If so great detail! You amaze me as usual!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
